Membership Terms
The Ethos of the Hemp Cooperative is to develop an indigenous Irish hemp Industry and in doing so to set the highest possible standards and traceability for the industry.
To achieve this, we need to support hemp grown in Ireland and that is traceable to Irish lisenced farms. Where a comparative product is available in Ireland and is traceable to Irish lisenced farms those products should be substituted for imports
- The Hemp Cooperative of Ireland does not support Isolate or synthetic cannabinoids.
- All hemp businesses growing or processing hemp should hold a lisence to cultivate hemp from the Department of Health.
- All Hemp food businesses must register their business with the Environmental Health section of the HSE.
- All Hemp related food supplements must be notified to the Food Safety Authority of Ireland.
- All Hemp related cosmetic products must be registered with the Health Product Regulatory Authority.
- Members of the Hemp, Cooperative may have their products tested to verify that they are made from approved Hemp varieties. (RNA, DNA testing)
- Members of the Hemp Cooperative may have their products tested to ensure the accuracy of their label.
- All laboratory testing of products should be carried out by an accredited lab. ISO/IEC 17025:2017
